(subj: effect vs affect)

PSA: “effect” can be used as a verb but not in the same way as “affect”. “Effect” kind of means “bring about [something or its reasonable equivalent]”.

EXAMPLES.
You can effect a change if you mean that you’re going to CREATE a change. You can affect a change if you mean that you’re going to modify a change that was already underway.
You can’t effect a cat but you can affect a cat. You can also infect a cat but you shouldn’t do that intentionally…
